AI-First Ways of Working

Modernising the team

For many product teams the question is no longer whether to use AI but how to build it into the way they actually work. I help product functions do that deliberately: rethinking how they research, prioritise, spec, and make decisions when AI runs through the whole workflow, rather than bolting a few tools onto processes that were designed without them.

A lot of the work is judgement about where AI genuinely helps and where it does not. Some things AI can take on or speed up; others still need human insight, taste, and accountability. Getting that line right is what lets you redeploy the real talent in the team onto the work that actually needs them, rather than spreading everyone thin or handing the wrong things to a tool. Where it helps, I design and deliver training so the team can get started or move further on with real confidence.

Best used when:

  • You want to work out where AI genuinely changes your product and your processes, and where it does not

  • Your team is using AI ad hoc and you want a deliberate, consistent way of working

  • Product processes were designed before AI and no longer fit how the team could now work

  • You want practical training to get a product team started with AI, or to push an existing approach further

What does it look like?

A bird's-eye view of four women working at a large wooden conference table in a modern office with wooden floors. One woman in a pink blazer is typing on a laptop, a woman with blonde hair in a floral top is also working on a laptop, a woman with dark hair in a gray blazer is writing on a notepad, and another woman at the far end is seated with a magazine in front of her.

How it works

I start by understanding how your product team works today and where AI could change that for the better. From there we redesign the relevant processes, discovery, prioritisation, specification, and decision-making, so AI is built in by design.

Where it is useful, I run training alongside the work so the team builds genuine confidence and capability, not just a list of tools.

How I’ve supported teams doing this:

  • Reshaped a product function's processes so AI was built into discovery and decision-making rather than added on top

  • Introduced AI-first content production for a team producing specialist, evidence-based material, changing how it was created and maintained at scale

  • Designed and delivered training to help a product team get started with AI-first ways of working

What you get

  • A clear view of where AI adds genuine value in your product and processes, and where it does not

  • Redesigned product processes with AI built in by design

  • A team more confident and capable with AI, through training where useful

  • Ways of working that are structured, sustainable, and suited to how your team actually operates
